I drilled another hole in it right behind the right barb to push the submersible pump's power cord through.
Which meant I'd have to cut off the cord. So I did. Lopped it clean off, and replaced it with a molex, not sure why, its certianly not necessary. I made sure to use heat shrink tubing...this ain't no 12v, its 110v ac, I wouldn't want to fry my self or stuff. ![]() Here's a shot of it after threading and using Goop to seal it on both the inside and out. ![]() I cleaned all my pieces, took off the protective sticker material on the lexan, and jammed about 2" of tubing inside the right outlet barb and sealed it with Goop, reattached that hose to the pump and screwed on both sides and filled it with water. Naturally I had a bad leak on the side that I cut the lettering off of. So I sealed it all the way around with Goop and let it dry a day and tried again. I still had a leak on the un-Gooped side and said "screw it" and gooped that side too. After it had dried I filled it with water again and ran it all day. It's been running 3 days now without any leaks. Here's the money shot: ![]() This was really cheap to put together and I think it looks pretty good. Any Questions?, Email me: dave@unixmonkey.net |
